My Muse went to Europe and when she returned she couldn't stand America. I told her that's how I feel when I come back to Texas from NYC. I told her that when we vacation in NYC together she will finally get to see the Fun version of me.
I wish I was in NYC with my friends More than anything in the world. To be So certain that you are not where you are supposed to be is very taxing on my mind, memory and existential existence.
New fucking York, 2009. That's the last time I was happy. That's a lot of years of not being happy for those keeping up. We ( and by we I mean myself, Colleen , Adam & Jessica ) were on our way to the The Highline when we ran into these busts being junked and we took them and had fun with them all day. I miss my east coast friends tremendously.
Life is such that I will not be able to attend a friend's wedding in New York. NYC, the only place in the world I never feel depressed at.

And now for a Yazzmin photo, b/c she's wearing a New York shirt ( the Wonder Woman underwear is just a bonus)

"How did you get them?"
"Museum Heist" was one of our answers.
People's puzzled looks never ceased to amuse us. You'd think New Yorkers have seen it all but we got a lot of people to engage us in conversation because of these statues. Doc Brown certainly enjoyed taking David all over the place.
Back from New York. Feeling like a stranger in a strange land. It's too quiet. Here then we have a 33 song selection from songs I played at my party on Friday: [ 33 ]
I can't sleep and I just watched a dumb movie filmed in NYC which made me miss you, brunch, walks on the Upper East Side at night, Museums, The Park, Duane Reed runs for random stuff, Coffee shops, your laughter, waiting for play tickets, dancing at night, eating late, trying to sleep when they pick up the trash, and every time I've visited rushed completely into one sleepless blink. So I found a picture I took from my first visit, just to make my Hyperthymesia last a little longer.

Dawn in New York has
four columns of mire
and a hurricane of black pigeons
splashing in the putrid waters.
Dawn in New York groans
on enormous fire escapes
searching between the angles
for spikenards of drafted anguish.
Dawn arrives and no one receives it in his mouth
because morning and hope are impossible there:
sometimes the furious swarming coins
penetrate like drills and devour abandoned children.
Those that go out early know in their bones
there will be no paradise or loves that bloom and die:
they know they will be mired in numbers and laws,
in mindless games, in fruitless labors.
The light is buried under chains and noises
in an impudent challenge to rootless science.
And crowds stagger sleeplessly through the boroughs
as if they had just escaped a shipwreck of blood.
"A Poet in New York" by Federico Garcia Lorca
Away for a few days. You know where.
One need never leave the confines of New York to get all the greenery one wishes--I can't even enjoy a blade of grass unless I know there's a subway handy, or a record store or some other sign that people do not totally regret life.
[ The Damnwells: She's The New York City Skyline ]
"Alvy, you're incapable of enjoying life, you know that? I mean you're like New York City. You're just this person. You're like this island unto yourself."
Being that I rode the Staten Island Ferry quite a bit last year, this show caught my attention.

In remembrance of subway misadventures and being with my favorite Brooklyn girl last week. The less said about being out and about during the "Valentine's Day Winter Storm" and a terrible airport experience thanks to Jet Blue, the better.
One of the absolute favorite parts of my New York City trip was going the the MoMA. The exhibit I liked the most was "Douglas Gordon: Timeline". Especially "Play Dead; Real Time" which looked like this:
